Este Tour comienza mañana su 14° edición masculina, con un gran cartel de estrellas. Tendremos a Sagan, Wiggins, Cancellara, Boonen y Valverde (que no se si habrá corrido hoy en Dubai y luego tendrá que partir rajado a Qatar)

TOUR OF QATAR

8 al 13 de Febrero

El Tour de Catar (oficialmente: Tour of Qatar) son dos carreras ciclistas profesionales por etapas catarí, masculina y femenina, que se disputa a principios del mes de Febrero con 2 días de diferencia entre el final de uno y el inicio de la otra.

La masculina se inició en 2002 y su primer ganador fue Thorsten Wilhelms. Desde su creación fue de categoría 2.3; y desde la creación de los Circuitos Continentales UCI en 2005 forma parte del UCI Asia Tour, dentro de la categoría 2.1 primero y 2.HC (máxima ategoría de estos circuitos) desde 2012.

El murciano José Joaquín Rojas ha ganado la primera etapa del Tour de Qatar (2.HC) y es el primer líder de la carrera.

El viento ha hecho de las suyas y ha cortado el pelotón varias veces y, pegando de frente, ha retrasado la marcha de los corredores. Tom Boonen y Peter Sagan se han visto involucrados en una caída, pero han terminado la etapa.

Greg Van Avermaet, en solitario, a falta de menos de 40 kilómetros, y un trío formado por Lars Boom y Lieuwe Westra (Astana) junto a Matti Breschel (Tinkoff), que se ha fugado a falta de menos de 25 para la meta, han buscado su oportunidad, pero primero Katusha y, después, Trek y Ettix han tirado del pelotón para llegar todos juntos. El trío ha tenido hasta casi el minuto de ventaja, pero a falta de 10 kilómetros el pelotón se ha agrupado.

Luego el viento ha provocado otro abanico y el gran grupo se ha quedado muy reducido. Uno de los favoritos para la victoria, Marcel Kittel se ha quedado fuera del mismo. AL final Rojas ha sido el más listo y el más rápido de los que quedaban y ha logrado sy primera victoria del año.

Lo chistoso es que ayer, en MARCA los mismos españoles se reían de que a Rojas lo pusieran entre los favoritos en este Tour.....hoy les tapó la boca a todos, incluido yo. Es que este Rojas hace tiempo que no ganaba y ni siquiera lo veíamos peleando podios. Para más remate, a finales de año lo relacionaron con la red de dopaje del Doc Ferrari.

Alexander Kristoff gana la 2ª en Qatar

Alexander Kristoff (Katusha) ha ganado la segunda etapa del Tour de Qatar, que ha llevado al pelotón desde Al Wakra hasta Al Khor Corniche, en 194 kilómetros. Ha habido viento de nuevo y se ha ido rapidísimo. Las dos primeras horas se ha rodado a una media de 54,4 kilómetros.

Fotos de ayer, donde el viento y las tormentas de arena dejaron el zorral en el pelotón. Se cortó en mil pedazos el grupo, algunos corredores se quejaron que no podían comer (se les llenaba de arena los alimentos) y que el viento era inhumano (según Valverde)

Wena pregunta...¿será porque la CRI era "sólo" de 10km? Quizá esa distancia está fuera del mínimo exigido por la UCI para emplear las bicis de cronos

.....o como dices tu, a los equipos les dió paja llevar a Qatar bicis de CRI.

....es un buen punto el tipo de bici para entender porque Wiggo salió 3° y no 1°, en mi opinión.

viendo el resumen que posteo ud master, muchos se veian incomodos sobre la bici tratando de adoptar la posicion de triatlon pero se notaba que a varios les penaban los aerobars, y otra cosa que me fije pero no se si sera una mala interpretacion mia, muchos no podian mantener la postura y la bici les bailaba para todos lados cosa que no se nota con las bicis de crono, se ven siempre bien compactos y con un rodado parejo y sin sacudir la parte superior del cuerpo, fue rara la crono asi como informal jaja sin la indumentaria y las bicis de TT

Como la callampa la transmisión del Tour de Qatar. Casi todos los días se ha caído por el viento y las tormentas de arena imperante (imposible la transmisión de helicópteros o desde motos)

Hoy de nuevo ganó Kristoff del Katusha, batiendo a Sagan que no consigue un triunfo esta temporada

Es que Sagan las quiere hacer todas.....no es un sprinter puro. Una llegada que pique hacia arriba un poco le ayudaría a ganar carreras. O simplemente focalizar su trabajo en las Clásicas de Primavera.
